Buonconvento
Buonconvento is historically the place of meetings (even fighting) and trade, and its rectangular formerly bounded by walls preserved monumental buildings in the testimony of an important past. On the façade of the town hall you can still see no fewer than 25 coats of arms of the Podestà (city magistrates) who governed Buonconvento until 1270.
An evocative attraction in Buonconvento is the Museum of Sacred Art of the Val d’Arbia where you can view works from churches and parish churches throughout the Crete Senesi territory. Among other works worthy of mention are those by Matteo di Giovanni, Sano di Pietro, Duccio di Boninsegna and Guidoccio Cozzarelli.
