The Tuscany of your dreams

Val d'Orcia

The Val d'Orcia or Valdorcia is certainly the valley most known and appreciated in the south of Tuscany. Is a region characterised by gentle, carefully cultivated hills occasionally broken by gullies and by picturesque towns and villages. The valley from 2004 was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Already known in medieval age as it was crossed by the Via Francigena, the main road that connected Rome and the Christianity to Northern Europe. The Val d'Orcia Naturalistic, Artistic and Cultural Park comprises the townships of Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, Radicofani and Castiglion d'Orcia. It was created in order to protect not only plants, animals and art but also the traditions and style of life of the people here; a culture that still today produces natural and healthy food and one that offers a special kind of hospitality, as honest and courteous as the old Tuscan farmers themselves. We'll convey the timeless spirit of our traditions so that you may relax and savour the simple and earthly rhythm of life, ages away from the city's modern-day, over-worked existence.
