The Thrush Festival of Montalcino
In Montalcino, every last Sunday of October there is the thrush festival, a tradition that dates back to 1958. During this event the districts of Montalcino, Borghetto (white and red), Pianello (yellow and blue) and Travaglio (yellow and red) ), compete in an archery contest. During Sunday, but also during the two days before, you can participate in the folkloristic dance of Trescone group, see the beauty of costumes and colors of historical parades and taste the typical dishes of Montalcino in the stands set up by the various districts. During the second Sunday of the month, when there is the opening of the hunts, a small version of this event is also celebrated in Montalcino.
